Chaos to Calm

Hey, overwhelmed and frustrated owner.

I have been right here where you are too! Trying to figure out how to work through reactivity on your own can be exhausting. You are trying to sort through a sea of information online, doing whatever you can to prevent a reaction by throwing treats or running away from triggers, or it has gotten to the point where you don't leave the house anymore. If it feels like you have tried everything and nothing seems to be working, you are in the right place.

I want to share the key to success with you! I could tell you all of the technical things this program will teach you, but instead let's paint a picture of your future. It's a beautiful day outside, and you grab the leash and your best friend and head out. You step out of the door feeling confident, calm, and empowered to handle anything that comes your way. You're relaxed, your dog is tuned in with you, and you are soaking up the sun together. You have learned how to appreciate the dog you have and are able to enjoy time with them again! You are able to enjoy activities with your dog that you thought were impossible weeks ago.

Let me ask you some questions.

  • Do you own a reactive dog who barks, lunges, or growls?

  • Are you feeling confused, frustrated, and defeated by your dog's behavior?

  • Does your dog completely ignore you? Especially when it matters, like on a walk or around their trigger?

  • Do you feel anxious just thinking about taking your dog out on walks?

  • Have you tried to figure it out, but just ended up more confused by the amount of contradicting information you found?

In order to truly see lasting change and success, you have to be willing to put in the effort and make changes yourself. I can't guarantee that your dog will become the perfect, social dog of your dreams, but I can confidently guarantee that if you make this commitment to yourself and your dog, trust the process and follow the program, you will see a difference and feel the benefits. You will enjoy being with your dog again!

You and your dog deserve to have the best life you can make together. I want to help you get there.

Education

We want you to feel empowered and confident with your reactive dog. The focus of this program is educating you about all aspects of reactivity so you can take the necessary steps to see success!

1:1 Coaching Option

We know that every dog, owner and situation is unique. We want to see you succeed, so you have the opportunity to add on one-on-one coaching calls during your program.

Owning a reactive dog can be one of the most challenging things you experience. You want everyone to see the sweet, loving, and playful side of your dog, but all people see is a dog that is pulling, barking, and out of control. You are trying your best to help your dog, but nothing is working. You get caught in a vicious cycle of needing to exercise your dog but not wanting to risk going outside. How defeating does that feel?

I want you to know that you are not alone! I have been there before with my own dog, Bella. I have gone on walks and ended up back at home in tears because of her behavior. Her reactivity was escalating, and I felt like I was failing her and myself. On top of it all, I had been professionally training animals in aquarium settings for 6 years at that point. I could teach a penguin to do a voluntary blood draw but could not get my dog to stop barking at dogs and people, it didn't make any sense to me.

So, I got to work and dove into the world of dog training. When I first started my research, I was overwhelmed by the amount of crazy, confusing, and straight up just weird suggestions that were out there. I felt even more lost and knew there had to be better options than hopelessly trolling YouTube.

I turned on my training brain and looked at her life as a whole. That's when it hit me, I found my solution to her reactivity. She has always been an anxious girl and I wasn't taking her mindset into consideration. That was the lightbulb moment for me! I like to call it the Haunted House mindset. In theory, you are in no real danger at a Haunted House, but it is still an extremely stressful and scary experience. Why is that? It's an unpredictable environment, you don't know when things will pop out, and when they do, you have nowhere to go. That is what she was feeling on her walks.

Once I realized that, the key to success with reactivity didn't only come from addressing the outward behavior, it came from addressing the bigger picture, the mindset.
